Camps are a highlight for students and a wonderful way for them to build relationships and resilience. They also help students learn more about who they are and what they are capable of.
Year 5 sleepover
The Year 5 sleepover is the student’s first introduction to Nhulunbuy Christian College’s camping program. They have the exciting opportunity to sleep over at school and engaging in a range of activities focused on team building and adventuring in the community.
Year 6 bush camp
This trip provides students with the opportunity to enjoy God’s creation in North East Arnhem Land and learn basic outdoor education skills such as setting up a tent, camp cooking, water safety and bush survival skills. Students are fully immersed in nature and enjoy the great outdoors as a class.
Year 7 Mungalli Falls camp, Cairns
Year 7 students fly to Cairns and drive two hours south to Mungalli Falls Outdoor Education Camp. Here, students engage in a range of exciting outdoor activities such as abseiling, waterslides, hiking, swimming under a waterfall and so much more. This camp helps students to learn new skills, team building and problem solving.
Year 8 Gawa Christian School Partnership Program, Elcho Island
This partnership program provides students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in a beautiful Indigenous Homeland and serve at Gawa Christian School. With a focus on building relationships with students from Gawa Christian School, there are lots of opportunities to engage in classroom activities, participate in cross-cultural learning and sharing together.
Year 9 Larapinta Trip, Alice Springs
On this incredible trip, students complete up to 100km of the Larapinta Trail over 10 days. They leave the hustle and bustle of life (and technology) behind and learn more about each other, creation and the God who made them.
Year 10 trip
NT Christian College students, from all campuses, come together and travel in two coaches across Australia. Over three weeks, students explore parts of Adelaide, Canberra and Sydney, engaging in everything from skiing to learning about science, civics and history. It’s a trip of a lifetime!
